Siders 16 Kids: One More Day Meant WHAT?! - Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary

Ohio's attorney general did not hedge. Sixteen children were taken out of a home on Ohmer Street in Hamden, and Andy Wilson did not soften what came next. Based on what he had seen, he said, waiting a certain amount of time longer carried a very high probability of a death, or multiple deaths, inside that house. That statement is the spine of this conversation. Tony is joined by Robin Dreeke, the retired FBI special agent who ran the Bureau's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program and has spent a career answering the question of why people do what they do.The facts are not in much dispute. Sixteen children, from eighteen months to eighteen years. A room the sheriff described as roughly twelve by twelve, where he said they had been kept for most of four years. A sheriff's line about livestock in his county being kept better. An attorney general calling it pure evil.Four adults charged with sixteen counts each of endangering children. Four not guilty pleas. What is in dispute is what it means. Elizabeth Siders' attorney argues this is poverty and isolation rather than evil, and that evil requires malice. Poverty, though, does not teach a family to move across counties and leave no school records and no medical records behind for the better part of two decades.Hamden is a town of about seven hundred people. Relatives say they visited and noticed nothing. The school district has no record that any of the sixteen children were ever enrolled.Dreeke and Tony take all of it apart, including the hardest question in the case: whether a person can be shaped into something and still answer for it.END_LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
