Alex Murdaugh and Matthew Farwell — Untested DNA and Undeleted Texts

Published by Tony Brueski on

One episode covers two cases and two courtrooms. Murdaugh’s defense surfaced unknown male DNA under both of Maggie’s fingernails and on the phone thrown from the car — evidence SLED left untested. A federal prisoner’s claim of $15,000-a-week pill sales to the family went uninvestigated for three years. Harpootlian told a judge Murdaugh passed a polygraph. The judge set the record straight: he failed it and was never tested about the murders. Candor is not optional. In Matthew Farwell’s federal trial, his texts to Sandra Birchmore were read aloud. He wrote he figured she would have said no because she was young. He confirmed 2012 — she was fourteen. He directed her to delete messages. His work phone searches after her death included consent revocation. Both have pleaded not guilty.
