Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell Part 4: No One Was Murdered

Published by Tony Brueski on

The final part of our docu-series is about justice, how long it took, and whether it holds.

Before any jury was seated, Lori Vallow Daybell was found not competent twice and spent nearly a year at a state facility. Her first lawyer, Mark Means, had represented Chad too, and was removed. Lori never gave up her right to a speedy trial, and the cases split. The death penalty came off the table for her. The defense raised the late jail recordings. The judge found no misconduct.

Tony Brueski takes you through Lori’s 2023 trial in Boise: 1,800 summoned jurors, “money, power and sex,” Kay on the stand, Summer’s video call, the pet cemetery, Lori choosing not to testify, and a guilty verdict on Mother’s Day weekend. Then sentencing, where Lori said no one was murdered, and Samantha told her no angels were coming.

Chad’s 2024 trial brought the evidence Lori’s jury never heard, his children testifying for him, and a death sentence. Then Arizona: Lori as her own lawyer, the nephi text on the monitor, Brandon Boudreaux on the stand, and two more convictions.

It ends at the Idaho Supreme Court, on death row outside Boise, and at Tammy’s grave in Springville.
