Farwell’s Twin Admitted He Was With Sandra Birchmore Too

Prosecutors say Matthew Farwell strangled Sandra Birchmore with a duffel bag strap, and the state police lab found none of his DNA under her fingernails. The trooper who investigated her death in 2021 agreed on cross-examination that he saw no signs of a struggle in her room.
Eric Faddis, a defense attorney and former prosecutor, is with me to argue the prosecution’s answer to every one of the defense’s strongest points before closings on Friday, November 6th.
The government’s case is that Farwell, a former Stoughton detective, killed Sandra in her Canton apartment on February 1st, 2021, and set the scene to look like a hanging. Farwell’s lawyers say the baby wasn’t his, he came to say so, and she took her own life after he was gone.
The fifth point is the strap itself. The lab linked Matthew’s DNA to it and never tested his twin brother William, who testified with immunity that he’d had his own relationship with Sandra.
