Alex Murdaugh — Harpootlian Said He Passed. The Judge Said He FAILED.

Published by Tony Brueski on

At the last hearing, Harpootlian told the judge Alex Murdaugh passed a polygraph with flying colors. That was false. Murdaugh failed the test, which measured financial deception — not whether he killed Maggie and Paul. He has never been polygraphed about the murders. The judge put the correction on the record and delivered a warning: candor with this court is not optional going forward. The pretrial hearing also featured a dispute over evidence the state delivered in bulk — 73 gigabytes arriving three days before the original trial. A SLED ballistics expert who told the first jury he’d never seen .300 Blackout in a homicide was contradicted by SLED’s own records showing those cartridges logged daily. The judge shut down both sides: this is court, not a sound bite. Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty. Retrial is April.
