Sandra Birchmore’s Warning Call Reached Farwell Because Someone Inside Tipped Him Off

Published by Tony Brueski on

A three-minute phone call to the Stoughton Police Department on January 20th, 2021, should have ended Matthew Farwell’s career. Instead, prosecutors say, it ended Sandra Birchmore’s life. The caller reported Sandra’s relationship with Farwell. She was put on hold twice. The recording was later auto-deleted. A department employee allegedly tipped Farwell off, and twelve days later Sandra was dead. Farwell’s twin brother William worked in that building. He admitted his own relationship with Sandra, gave state police a false account, ran unauthorized database searches on her, and was permanently decertified in September 2024. Stoughton’s own internal investigation found all three officers misled the troopers looking into her death. Bob Motta explains how a department this compromised investigates anything. Farwell is charged with killing Sandra and her unborn child and staging the scene. The defense says she took her own life.
