Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell Part 2: Ned

Published by Tony Brueski on

Charles Vallow did everything a man is supposed to do when he believes his life is in danger. Part 2 of our docu-series is about why it wasn’t enough.

It starts in St. George on October 26, 2018, the day Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell met. From there, the testimony builds a world: people rated light or dark, zombies with their spirits pushed out, castings performed on people who never knew they were the target. Lori’s friends Melanie Gibb and Zulema Pastenes would describe it under oath. Lori’s niece was part of the group. Charles, they said, had become Ned.

Tony Brueski follows Charles’s warnings in order. The body-camera footage in January. The divorce petition describing Lori as a translated being who cannot taste death. The lawyer who said Charles named Lori and Alex. The beneficiary change to Kay Woodcock. The forged letter traced to Lori’s number. The email to Tammy Daybell that never reached her.

Then July 11, 2019. A drive-thru at 7:54, flip-flops at Walgreens, a 911 call from Alex Cox, and a husband who lay on the floor for 43 minutes. Alex was never charged before he died that December. Lori was convicted in Arizona in 2025.

And then Chad’s texts turned to the children.
