Lindsay Clancy’s Own Note Says THIS About Her Kids

Published by Tony Brueski on

The Lindsay Clancy murder trial is underway in Plymouth Superior Court, and the Commonwealth’s most damaging piece of evidence may be something she wrote herself.

Prosecutors have told the court that months before her three children died, Lindsay Clancy left a note on her phone about her two older kids. It has been read aloud in a courtroom already. It will be read again in front of a jury, and everybody in that room knows exactly what it does to a person hearing it cold.

Around it sits a timeline the state has assembled out of nothing but ordinary domestic life. A message about not wanting to cook. Dinner ordered. A husband sent out for takeout and a prescription. A window of roughly fifty minutes. Prosecutors say she measured it. They have charged her with three counts of first-degree murder and argued this was deliberate.

Criminal defense trial attorney Bob Motta joins Tony Brueski to work through what the Commonwealth actually has and where it is weaker than it looks. The central problem for the prosecution is one most people have never thought about — a person in a full psychotic episode does not necessarily look like one. They can answer a phone. They can order food. They can pass, right up until they do not.

There is also the matter of her profession, which the state intends to hold up as evidence that she understood the language of mental health well enough to use it. Her lawyers see the same fact and call it proof that the system failed the one patient who knew how to ask.

Cora. Dawson. Callan. Five, three, and eight months old. The verdict turns on what was in her head, and the state says her phone already answered that.
