Lindsay Clancy’s Best Witnesses Will Never Testify

The Lindsay Clancy insanity defense has a problem, and it is not the evidence — it is who a Massachusetts judge will and will not let into the courtroom.

Kevin Reddington’s plan was to have women who have survived postpartum psychosis describe it to the jury themselves. Real people, real experiences, no expert reports. The underlying case Reddington is building is documented in medical records and two civil lawsuits. Lindsay Clancy told her husband at the end of December that she was having thoughts of hurting her kids. She admitted herself to a psychiatric hospital on New Year’s Eve. Nineteen days after her discharge, all three of her children were gone. Her attorney has put the prescription count at roughly thirteen psychiatric medications over about four months.
