JP Miller Called It ‘Protection’ — Federal Prosecutors Call It Cyberstalking

JP Miller allegedly told federal investigators he tracked Mica Miller to protect her. Federal prosecutors allege the tracking was part of a cyberstalking campaign that lasted nearly two years and put Mica in reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury.

The federal indictment, returned in December 2025, charges Miller with one count of cyberstalking and one count of false statements. Prosecutors say he placed tracking devices on Mica’s vehicle, contacted her more than fifty times in a day, interfered with her finances, and posted an intimate image without her consent. He allegedly hired a private investigator, telling agents it was to keep Mica from purchasing firearms. Miller has pleaded not guilty and denies the allegations. He has not been charged in Mica’s death.

Mica Miller was thirty. She filed for divorce two days before dying in April 2024 at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. Her death was ruled a suicide. Miller’s federal trial is set for October 2026.

While Mica was reportedly hospitalized, her devices were allegedly seized. She had gone to police. She had told friends and family what was happening. And the man she was trying to leave was allegedly framing the surveillance as concern for her wellbeing.
