How Twelve Jurors Convicted Caleb Flynn in Two Hours With No Weapon

Published by Tony Brueski on

The Caleb Flynn jury deliberated roughly two hours before convicting on all nine counts. No weapon was found. No residue on the defendant. No fingerprints. The defense said the state had nothing but an affair. Prosecutors argued Flynn shot Ashley Flynn twice in the back of the head as she slept and staged the crime as a break-in. Their daughters were in the house. The prosecution built its case on 107,000 text messages, digital forensics from Flynn’s phone and Apple Watch, deleted apps, and the testimony of Flynn’s 24-year-old mistress. The defense called no witnesses. Bob Motta and Robin Dreeke discuss how jurors weigh circumstantial and digital evidence, how the defense strategy of calling no witnesses affected deliberations, and what made this verdict land so fast.
