Texas Man Charged with Murder and Other Crimes in Disappearance of Wife

Marquise Glasper, 37, has been taken into custody and charged with murder, tampering with evidence — human corpse, unlicensed possession of a firearm by a felon, and evading arrest. The charges are related to the disappearance and presumed murder of his wife, 35-year-old Crystal Lynch, who vanished on the night of May 6.
Crystal Lynch, a beloved mother of two, was reported missing by her 16-year-old
daughter on the day after she disappeared. The daughter, who became concerned
when her mother failed to pick her up from work at Taco Bell, played a crucial
role in the investigation, providing details that raised suspicions of foul
play from the beginning.

According to court records, the daughter noticed unusual behavior in text messages from her mother’s phone, with the sender using short slang words instead of the
usual full sentences. The stepfather, Marquise Rochard Glasper, was allegedly
identified as the sender, as he was known to communicate in a similar manner.
Further investigation revealed that Glasper was aware of an adulterous night out involving Lynch and a friend. The friend disclosed that Glasper had somehow learned about the affair and had made comments indicating a potential threat to Lynch’s life. The 16-year-old daughter corroborated this information, claiming that Glasper had previously admitted to beating Lynch after discovering her infidelity while he was
incarcerated.
On May 20th, investigators received a search warrant for Glasper’s silver Jeep. The complaint says they found five separate areas with “possible blood” stains and drops. Law enforcement also cut out and kept one of the seat covers — which appeared to have blood on it. The Jeep was returned to the defendant the next day.

The home was searched in early August after police received permission from the owners of the property. There, investigators found blood all over, police say.
“Eight possible drips of blood were found in the downstairs living room and a comforter, pillowcase, and sheet with possible blood stains were found in the downstairs laundry room,” the complaint reads. “Two hammers, a hatchet, and a box of 9 mm ammo with three bullets remaining were found in the home and possible bleach stains were visible dripping down the east wall of [Lynch’s] bedroom.”

Investigators wrote in court documents they believed a person would die without receiving immediate medical attention with blood loss as extensive as what they found
during a search of the couple’s townhome in northwest Houston.

Houston Police Department said someone tried to clean up the crime scene. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the silver Jeep in a suspicious location with hazard lights on just after 11 p.m. on the night Lynch went missing. Glasper’s
timeline of events, including an attempt to explain the presence of blood in
the vehicle, failed to account for a significant time gap, raising further
suspicion. During a mid-September interview with law enforcement, Glasper complained about his wife’s alleged infidelities and provided conflicting information about the night in question. The court document suggests that Glasper’s motivations
and actions are complex, with potential premeditation and a troubled
relationship with his missing wife. Crystal Lynch’s body has yet to be found. Glasper
is being held on a $400,000 total bond.
