Sandra Birchmore’s Chief Kept a Report on THIS Phone Call

Published by Tony Brueski on

Donna McNamara ordered the 2021 investigation that found three Stoughton officers had inappropriate relationships with Sandra Birchmore. Now McNamara is the one on leave, and Eric Faddis joins me to ask how.

Her lawsuit says that on July 7, Town Manager Thomas Calter called her in, gave her a choice to resign or be fired, and barred her from headquarters. Calter says she was put on leave over a complaint and never got an ultimatum. Her suit says his office named an acting chief within 48 hours of her harassment complaint against him.

At the center of the fight is a second Birchmore report from 2024. Calter has said it examined how the department handled one specific phone call. McNamara says he wanted it destroyed. He denies that.

Eric explains why that one call matters to the federal case against Matthew Farwell.
