Matthew Farwell Walked Out of His Police Interview Without THIS

Published by Tony Brueski on

Prosecutors say Matthew Farwell walked out of his state police interview about Sandra Birchmore’s death with the conversation unrecorded and his home and phone never searched. Sandra, 23 and pregnant, was found dead in her Canton apartment on February 4, 2021. The state medical examiner called it suicide in May 2021 and withdrew that finding in April 2026, now listing it as undetermined. Dr. Michael Baden, hired by her family, says the fractured hyoid bone and the placement of the ligature point to strangulation. Federal prosecutors in Boston allege Farwell, then a Stoughton detective, met Sandra through the police Explorers program, was with her by 15, and killed her to keep her quiet. His lawyers say he went there to end an affair and she took her own life. Tony takes listener questions on investigators finally forced to look, the defense’s bet on Sandra’s private struggles, and whether the department is getting off easy.
