Keffe D Held WHAT Position In The South Side Crips?!
The prosecution spent Day 7 connecting a gang title to a murder charge. A retired Compton Police Department detective took the stand and told the jury exactly where Duane “Keffe D” Davis sat in the hierarchy of the South Side Compton Crips.
Robert Ladd tracked Davis and the gang for years. He identified Davis by a specific title — and explained to the jury what that title means when the gang acts. Tupac’s childhood friend Malcolm Greenidge, court-ordered to testify, told the jury the shots came from the back seat of the white Cadillac. Davis was in the front. Ladd’s testimony explains why the front seat carries the charge. He also testified about witnessing Orlando Anderson’s gang initiation and the code of respect that drives retaliation.
Crime scene analysts showed the jury what police found in Davis’s Henderson home during a September 2023 search — his own book about the shooting and newspaper clippings about the murder stored in bins for decades.
