Nine years since the Delphi murders. One conviction. And every failure in between.

In February 2017, Abby Williams, thirteen, and Libby German, fourteen, were found dead on a creek bank in Delphi, Indiana. Nine years later, Richard Allen sits in a prison cell in Oklahoma serving a hundred and thirty years. Everyone the defense says the evidence pointed to walks free. The system that convicted Allen is the same system that lost his tip in a drawer, erased its own interviews, and sat on a catfish account for four years.

This is the complete four-part docu-series examining the Delphi case — the investigation, the evidence, the trial, and the appeal.

It covers the tip marked “Cleared” by someone nobody has ever identified — a form that sat in a desk for five years while the investigation processed more than forty-two thousand other leads. The FBI warrant on the property owner that was sealed and shelved. The composite sketch that ran on every billboard for two years before police said it was the wrong person.

It covers Kegan Kline’s catfish account — the one that communicated with Libby German and was allegedly used to arrange a meeting on the day she was killed. And the hundred-and-thirty-six-page defense filing naming men with alleged confessions, crime scene connections, and dried blood — all excluded from trial.

It covers thirteen months of solitary confinement that left Allen in documented psychosis, the more than sixty confessions he made during his mental collapse, and the state’s decision to play the ones that helped its case and leave out the rest.

And it follows the case to the appellate courtroom where a judge told the prosecution five words: “You protected him into psychosis.”

The appeal is pending. Three judges are reading the briefs.
