16 Siders Kids Were Never Supposed To Be Found - Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary

Every one of the sixteen Siders children was born at an area hospital. Every one. And over eighteen years of deliveries — including conjoined twins at a Columbus hospital who were born and died the same day — not a single medical professional flagged what was happening inside that family. No school enrolled those children. No social worker knocked on the door. The only reason anyone found them was a misdemeanor warrant served on Gary Siders Jr. for something that had nothing to do with kids. What deputies walked into at 182 Ohmer Street in Hamden, Ohio, was a five-room house with twenty people inside it. Children in a single room covered in waste and insects. An eighteen-year-old who couldn't write her own name. The Attorney General called it "pure evil" and said if they'd waited one more day, children would have died. Four adults now face sixty-eight combined felony counts, with a grand jury expected to add more. The AG's own language — describing the case as "intrafamilial" — signals the investigation may be heading somewhere far darker. This episode follows the trail of every institution that missed these children. Ohio's gutted homeschool laws. A county-by-county welfare system the family moved through without detection. Hospitals that delivered sixteen children over eighteen years without ever asking why there were no medical records. And the story of Elizabeth Siders, who was married at fifteen in West Virginia with a judge's signature while seven months pregnant — raising the question of whether the first person failed by these systems was one of the four people now charged.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
