Caleb Flynn’s Parents Heard THIS From a Jail Guard and Told the Judge

Two letters asked Judge Jeannine Pratt to go easy on Caleb Flynn, and this episode takes them apart sentence by sentence. Mike and Kim Flynn spent twenty-two years pastoring a Church of God congregation in Grasston, Minnesota. They wrote to the judge on October 2, 2026, three days after a jury found their son guilty of the aggravated murder of Ashley Flynn. The letters were filed as Defendant’s Exhibits A and B. Mike’s runs about three hundred words. He asked for clemency, pointed to “the lack of any other criminal record,” wrote that his son “is not the stereo type of criminal,” and offered a jail guard’s words as evidence of the man he raised. Kim’s runs about two hundred sixty. She asked the court to consider “the 38 years before the recent choices he’s made” and described a leader “in every area of his life.” She signed off by thanking the judge “for your mercy and compassion in this matter” before any ruling existed. The word mother appears once in Kim’s letter, and it refers to Kim. Ashley Flynn, a mother of two, is not named in either letter, and neither are her daughters. The jury that convicted Caleb had read his texts to his girlfriend, now in evidence, including “Kill her” and “I just want her dead and gone.” Prosecutors’ sentencing memo added that he spoke privately with each daughter before her forensic interview and told them to deny he had coached them. His attorney objected that none of that was presented at trial, and the judge allowed it. Pratt found no remorse and gave him life without parole. Caleb’s own daughters, ten and twelve, wrote letters that were read in court. Where his parents wrote “this situation,” his twelve-year-old wrote “tell everyone you did it.”
