Lori Vallow Daybell, age 50, was handed a lifetime sentence without the possibility of parole on Monday for her role in the murder of her two children. Prosecutors claimed the brutal act was part of a catastrophic doomsday scheme.

The court had previously honored a request from the defense to eliminate the possibility of the death penalty in the case.

In the horrific incident dating back to 2019, Vallow Daybell was convicted on two charges of first-degree murder for the untimely deaths of her children, Joshua “J.J.” Vallow, aged 7, and Tylee Ryan, aged 16. After an extensive search lasting several months, their remains were discovered on an Idaho property owned by her spouse, Chad Daybell.

The court further found Vallow Daybell guilty of conspiring to murder both her children and her husband’s former spouse, Tamara Daybell. The latter died under mysterious circumstances on October 19, 2019, mere weeks before Lori and Chad exchanged vows in Hawaii.
